Yoga for rest & aliveness

group & individual classes

Rested & Awake

I teach yoga-inspired movement and somatic practices to help the body and mind be still, spacious and relaxed. Mostly I work with people who are exhausted and would like to rest better and feel more awake.

These are quiet, contemplative classes. Yoga has a very rich and complex history, with lots of variations; body practices are only one part of it. I mainly teach about movement, breath and attention with meditative and ethical aspects woven into this.

This is an inside-out practice. It is not about performance or appearance. We will move slowly and practice paying attention. We may also journal and discuss relevant themes. You will have lots of options in the class, various supports (chairs, blankets) and work at your own pace. The focus is on exploring and learning from your own direct experiences, not on trying to achieve some external ideal.

You can read more about my background here. See next dates and class information below.

What people say

is this for you?

I offer explorations for body posture, movement and attention. Most people come because they want rest, spaciousness and to be more present. They may be exhausted and stressed and want to connect with the body in relaxed and healing way. We practice paying attention to what is happening in the body, emotions and mind, and we adjust what are doing accordingly. We may also share our experiences with each other.

This is not a vigorous exercise class, it is more about attention and awareness. We have dynamic movements and still forms. You will be encouraged to follow your own capacity and possibilities at the time, without any pressure to perform. I will offer options for different needs and preferences. If it is your first time practicing with me, please complete this short form. If you have any concerns about suitability, or any other questions, please ask.

Look into the body.
Inside the body is space.
The space inside the body is vast, unlimited.
Look into the vast, unlimited space inside the body and smile into the space.
In the space inside the body there is silence.
The silence in the space is vast, unlimited.
Look into the silence in the space inside the body
and smile into the silence.
